Customer question:
Can Detralex help with leg swelling? Anonymous customer, source: forum.
Pharmacist's answer
Detralex is the only medicine that contains flavonoids. These belong to the group of drugs for stabilizing capillaries. Flavonoids increase the tone of veins and the capillaries' resistance, thus reducing the formation of edema and having anti-inflammatory effects.
The medicine Detralex effectively relieves the symptoms of chronic venous disease (painful or tired legs, feeling of heavy legs, itching, night cramps in the legs, the appearance of varicose veins (varicose veins) swelling of the legs) and relieves the symptoms of acute hemorrhoidal disease (pain, rectal bleeding, feeling of incomplete bowel emptying, discharge, itching of the buttocks).
Detralex's anti-inflammatory effect on the venous system increases the veins' elasticity, strengthens and protects the vein wall (vagotonic action), and acts against swelling (antiedematous).
Vein diseases are chronic and, if left untreated, progress, even leading to the formation of wounds on the shins.
Treatment of venous disease is necessary at the first appearance of symptoms such as:
- the sensation of heavy, burning, and painful legs,
- night cramps, itching,
- restless legs, feeling of heat on the skin
- swelling of the legs,
- varicose veins,
- skin changes.
