The Public Agency of the Republic of Slovenia for Medicines and Medical Devices examined the online advertising and sale of products that are presented with therapeutic properties, even though they are not registered as medicines.
One of these products is Parazol tea, presented as a "medicine against parasites." On one of the websites where the product is sold, they misused a Slovenian veterinarian's identity and published a fake interview with him, which recommended the product.
That these are typical online scams is also shown by the fact that websites falsely promise the health effects of products that are not confirmed and verified. Comments from satisfied customers are also published on the website, and their credibility cannot be verified, which indicates that both the comments and the persons presented are fabricated.
Do we need to pay attention to body parasites?
Body parasites can be particularly unpleasant and cause real health problems in humans. Parasitic infections have been recognized, studied, and treated for many years in various parts of the world. Well-documented scientific studies, clinical observations, and direct microscopic visualizations confirm these organisms' existence and influence.
The idea of "scam" comes into play when some individuals or even companies exaggerate the threat of parasites to promote their products or treatments. While parasites are natural and can undoubtedly cause disease, it's essential to approach diagnosis and treatment with healthy skepticism, especially when dealing with unconfirmed sources.
If you suspect a parasite infection, consult a doctor, pharmacist, or specialist who can provide appropriate testing and treatment.
Parasites are generally divided into:
- Parasites are unicellular organisms that can live and reproduce inside the body. Examples include species of Plasmodium (causing malaria), Giardia lamblia (causing giardiasis), and Entamoeba histolytica (responsible for amoebic dysentery)...
- Helmintes: these are worm-like parasites. Examples are tapeworms, roundworms, and flukes. Diseases caused by helminths include schistosomiasis, ascariasis, and trichinosis.
- Ectoparasites, like lice, fleas, and ticks, live on the outside of the body. Some of them can transmit diseases, for example, ticks that transmit borreliosis.
